About Houghton Saddlery
Houghton Saddlery is in the centre of Launceston (directions) and has only been open since 13th August 2007. People are finding it really refreshing to have such a comprehensive saddlery right here in the South West, which is great!
I知 relatively new to horses, have only been riding for three years and grew up on a farm near Launceston. The other half of the partnership, Rachel Perry, has been involved in horses all of her life, is currently reading an equine science degree and has successfully completed the first level of a saddle fitting qualification. Also working with us is Master Saddler Maurice Napper who痴 35 years experience is hugely valuable. Rachel has worked with Maurice for the past 12 years and I知 just starting a saddlery apprentice under his watchful eye.
We are aiming to be a one stop shop for all your horsey needs. We feel that equine membership organisations, such as riding schools, pony clubs and hunts, are the backbone of the equine world here in the South West and we want to recognise that by issuing all members of such groups with discount cards which will hopefully encourage more people to join them. If you run such a group or are a member of one then get in touch and we値l get you signed up!
We致e decided to make South West Equine Protection (www.SWEP.org.uk) a charity that we値l sponsor this year so you値l see us at their shows and we値l be getting involved with other local shows and events.
